
Lancaster Defeats Somerset in Walk-Off Fashion 7-6

Lancaster, PA - The Lancaster Barnstormers (14-17) rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Somerset Patriots (20-9) 7-6 as catcher Petey Paramore socked a game winning RBI double to straight away center field to propel the Barnstormers to victory at Clipper Magazine Stadium. Lancaster snapped their three game losing streak. The Patriots four game winning streak came to a halt.
In the bottom of the third inning center fielder Blake Gailen drilled a line drive two run home run (3) over the right field wall and shortstop Olmo Rosario hit a RBI double to give Lancaster an early 3-0 advantage.
Center fielder Luis Montanez slugged a solo home run (3) to right-center field in the top of the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 3-1.
In the top of the sixth inning the Patriots sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs to take a commanding 6-3 lead. Designated hitter Jake Fox registered a RBI single. Montanez recorded a two RBI single. Catcher Adam Donachie drew a bases loaded walk to plate a run and shortstop Bobby Stevens tallied a RBI via a sacrifice fly.
Lancaster scratched across a run in the ensuing half inning on second baseman Jonny Tucker's throwing error to make the score 6-4.
The Barnstormers scored again in the home half of the eighth inning as second baseman Travis Denker recorded a RBI via a sacrifice fly cutting the deficit in half at 6-5
Lancaster tied and won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning as designated hitter Kevin Howard hit a game tying solo home run (2) that just squeaked inside the foul pole down the right field that tied the game at 6-6. Two batters later Paramore socked a walk-off RBI double to give the Barnstormers the 7-6 victory.
Jon Hunton (0-3) blew his third save of the season and suffered the loss. Ross Peeples (1-0) earned the win in relief.
