INF Torres added to Tennessee's roster; OF Ha placed on disabled list; RHP Fujikawa on MLB rehab

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announce this afternoon that INF Tim Torres has been added to the team's active roster in advance of tonight's 7:15 game at Smokies Park. In a corresponding roster move, OF Jae-Hoon Ha has been placed on the disables list, retroactive to May 5. Additionally, RHP Kyuji Fujikawa has been put Tennessee's roster as part of his major league rehab assignment.

The Smokies active roster remains at 25, which is the Southern League maximum.

Torres, 29, comes back to the Smokies where he played in six games with Tennessee and hit .250 (2-for-8). The Berkley, Calif. native was originally drafted by Houston in the 23rd round of the 2006 draft out of Oral Roberts University, and signed with the Cubs as a minor league free agent in 2013.

Ha, 22, is batting .305 (25-for-82) with five doubles, a home run and 13 RBIs in 25 games for the Smokies this season. The Jin Ju City, South Korea native was signed by the Cubs as a non-drafted free agent in 2008.

Fujikawa, 32, has been on Chicago's disabled list since April 13. In five games, he was 1-0 with a 12.46 ERA (6 ER/4.1 IP) and two saves in three opportunities. In 4.1 innings, the right-hander has allowed six earned runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out four. The Kochi, Japan native signed a two-year deal with the Cubs on Dec. 7, 2012.
