Southern Maryland got out to a one run lead after Brandon Jones (2-4, 2B, R) scored off of a sac fly from Wladimir Sutil in the second inning. That was the only run that Bluefish starter, Mike Parisi (5.0 IP, 6 H, ER, 5 SO) gave up as he wasn't involved in the decision.
The loss went to the Blue Crabs starter Daryl Thompson (0-2) who recorded his best game of the season, but allowed two runs (one earned) in five-and-one-third innings.
The win was credited to Ty'Relle Harris (1-0) who came into the game in the sixth frame and pitched three innings allowing one run and struck out three; giving way to Bluefish closer Jeff Fulchino, who picked up his league best fifth save of the season.
Austin Krum went 3-for-4 with a double and a run batted in, while Alexis Gomez had three hits as well. However, the clutch performance came with two outs in the seventh inning. Daniel Mayora extended his hitting streak to 11 games by doubling to left center.
