
Rockets Recall Ohlbrecht from Rio Grande Valley

HOUSTON - Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has recalled center Tim Ohlbrecht from Houston's single-affiliation NBA D-League partner Rio Grande Valley. Ohlbrecht played in all six postseason games with Rio Grande Valley (35-15, 6-0), helping the Vipers capture the 2012-13 NBA Development League championship.
Ohlbrecht (6-11, 255, Germany), who was assigned to Rio Grande Valley on Apr. 9, averaged 10.3 points and 7.2 rebounds in six postseason outings with the Vipers. In the 2012-13 D-League regular season, Ohlbrecht averaged 13.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.63 blocks in 32 games (29 starts) with Rio Grande Valley. Ohlbrecht was named All-NBA Development League Second Team after finishing the regular season third in the D-League in field goal percentage (.605, 164-271 FG) and 14th in the league in blocks per game (1.63). He was also named a 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, registering 12 points (6-9 FG) and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Prospects in a 139-125 win over the Futures squad. Ohlbrecht was actually signed by the Rockets from the Vipers on Feb. 25, 2013, which marked his first-ever Gatorade Call-Up to the NBA. He saw action in three regular season games with the Rockets in 2012-13.
