Lexington Legends News Release

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Starting pitcher Colin Rodgers allowed two hits over seven innings, and the Lexington Legends broke the game open with a six-run rally in the fourth on their way to a 8-0 win over the Greenville Drive Friday night.

The Legends scored a run without a hit in the bottom of the first on a walk, a force play at second, two wild pitches and Cam Gallagher's sacrifice fly.

With one out in the fourth, Fred Ford doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored when second baseman Mookie Betts committed an error on a grounder hit by Terrance Gore. After Gore stole second, Ethan

Chapman walked, and both runners moved up on a double steal. Adrian Morales struck out on a pitch in the dirt, but catcher Jayson Hernandez' throw to first was wide, allowing Gore to score as Chapman moved to third and Morales reached second.

J. B. Wendelken relieved starter Cody Kukuk and was greeted with a two-run double by Raul Mondesi, giving the Legends a 5-0 lead. Humberto Arteaga flied out, but Bubba Starling doubled, scoring Mondesi, and Gallagher doubled, bringing home Starling and making the score 7-0.

The Legends added their final run in the fifth on a single by Ford, a wild pitch and a double by Chapman.

Rodgers (1-0) allowed only a single by Boss Moanaroa in the second inning and a single by Jayson Hernandez in the sixth. He struck out six batters and walked one. Daniel Hernandez pitched last two innings and did not allow a hit. He walked one and struck out three.

The Legends have taken the first two games of the four-game series, which continues Saturday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
