Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, are putting down their razors and partnering with SportClips to support Steven's Hope for Children through the playoffs.

The Reign and SportClips are looking for players, staff members, partners, and most importantly, Reign fans, to show their support for the team by growing out their playoff beards. The playoff beard is a tradition that began with the New York Islanders in the early 1980s as a symbol of solidarity among the players as they make their way to the championship.

Show your support for the players and team's quest for the Kelly Cup by growing a playoff beard and asking for friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else you can think of to sponsor your hairy commitment to the team. Each person can pledge to donate each day of the playoffs, and each day you let your beard grow. All proceeds will benefit Steven's Hope for Children.

Steven's Hope is a non-profit organization created to help families of seriously ill or injured children by providing assistance to lessen the burden of the families, and surround them with caring compassion and kindness. Click here to learn more about Steven's Hope for Children. You can bring in your donations to Steven's Hope for Children at 1014 W. Foothill Blvd. Ste. B, Upland, CA 91786.

When the playoff beard challenge is completed at the end of the Reign's quest for the Cup, all pledges can be collected and brought to SportClips where they will offer a FREE beard trim to any participants. Visit SportClips in Upland with your pledges to receive your free trim.
