DES MOINES, IA, April 18, 2013- The Iowa Energy set an all-time regular season franchise attendance record this year by averaging 4,452 fans per game. That figure put the Energy over the 100,000 fan mark for the second consecutive regular season.
"This marks four consecutive years of attendance growth for our franchise. Not many teams can say that. It shows that we have the best fans in the entire NBA D-League. We appreciate their support immensely," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris.
The Energy, who were an expansion team in 2007, also hold the all-time single game NBA D-League record by hosting 14,012 fans during game two of the 2011 NBA D-League Finals.
"The attendance records we have set can be attributed to a few things - first, great fans. Second, we have a local ownership group which is important to Iowans. Third, we have an incredible staff that will move mountains to put on a great show for our fans," said Makris.
Season tickets for the Energy's 2013-14 season are now on sale. To purchase your season tickets, call the Energy at 515-564-8550 or visit www.IowaNBA.com.
