
Santa Cruz Takes Game One in Austin

AUSTIN, Tex. - The Santa Cruz Warriors defeated the Austin Toros 106-101 Wednesday night, taking the first game of the second round of the NBA D-League playoffs.
The Warriors were led by Stefhon Hannah, who scored 19 points and dished out six assists. Jeremy Tyler scored 17 and grabbed six boards, while Lance Goulbourne scored 12 and had a team-high seven rebounds.
Austin was paced by top NBA D-League prospect Lester Hudson, who scored a game-high 25 points. JaMychal Green logged the lone double-double of the contest with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, while Jamarr Sanders scored 17.
The first quarter was tied five times, with Austin ending ahead by three. Santa Cruz used a 34 point second quarter to enter the break ahead by seven. The Warriors continued to distance themselves from the Toros in the third, starting the final frame with an 80-70 advantage. Austin pulled within three with 7:01 left in the fourth, but couldn't quite muster a comeback and the Warriors held on for the win.
Santa Cruz shot 48.8% from the field, compared to Austin's 43.9%. The Warriors held the edge on rebounds (46-39), assists (24-15) and steals (14-11). Santa Cruz committed fewer turnovers (21-20).
Both teams will travel to Santa Cruz to play game two of the second round at the Kaiser Permanente Arena on Friday. Playoff tickets are still available (http://on.nba.com/Xqy6wE) for Friday's game, which tips-off at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. If necessary, game three will be held at the Kaiser Permanente Arena on Monday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m.
