The Florida State League has awarded Palm Beach OF James Ramsey the Player of the Week Award for the period of 4/4-4/14.
Ramsey has been an integral part of the Cardinals early season success. Reaching base in every game this year (11) and is currently on an 8 game hitting streak. From 4/4-14, Ramsey was second in league BA (.417), first in OBP (.523), first in SLG (.722) and first in runs scored (12). Over the period (10 games), he went 15-36 with 4 2B, 2 3B, HR, 4 RBI, 6 BB, 5 K and a stolen base.
The Cardinals' 1st round selection (23rd overall) in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Florida State University. Ramsey helped lead the Seminoles to a 4th place finish in the 2012 College World Series and was named ACC Player of the Year.
Ramsey and the Cardinals will play game two, of a three game series tonight against the Fort Myers Miracle, first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
