Dunedin Blue Jays News Release

DUNEDIN, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays will kick off the 2013 Florida State League season with a full night of baseball, music and much more on Thursday, April 4th at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

During the ballgame, a cornhole tournament will be held beyond the left field line, and all fans are invited to participate. After the final out, fans can stick around for a postgame concert featuring Pitbull Toddler.

The D-Jays will be hosting the Clearwater Threshers with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Gates will open to the public at 5:30 p.m. Dunedin is the only team in the league that has made the Florida State League playoffs in each of the last three seasons, and this year's roster has the club poised for continued success in 2013.

Toronto Blue Jays All-Star pitcher Ricky Romero will start the season in Dunedin, and he'll be joined by the top prospect in the Jays organization, right-handed hurler Aaron Sanchez. The 20-year-old phenom struck out 97 hitters in 90.1 innings with Class-A Lansing last season, while allowing just three home runs en route to a 2.49 ERA. In the midst of Toronto's offseason dealings for big name players like R.A. Dickey and Jose Reyes, Sanchez was one of the few prospects deemed "untouchable" by the Blue Jays front office.

Opening Night falls on a Thursday, and that means it's "Thirsty Thursday" at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Fans will be able to purchase beer, wine and soda for two dollars throughout the evening.

Families can also take advantage of Dunedin's new "Family Four Pack," which offers four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for 35 dollars.
