
Spirit Look to Extend Series with Knights at Home on Thursday Night

The Saginaw Spirit took on the London Knights at home for Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarter Final, falling 7 - 1.
Both squads came out with quality play in the opening period. Knights center Alex Broadhurst, opened up the scoring, his second of the playoffs, with the assists coming from San Jose Sharks prospect, Chris Tierney and Max Domi. Then, Kyle Platzer added an unassisted goal, his first of the playoffs. The Spirit fired back with a power play goal by Dalton Young, his first of the playoffs, with the assists coming from Jimmy Lodge and Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Garret Ross. The first period ended London 2 - Saginaw 1.
After forty minutes, the Knights added two more goals to their score. The first goal of the period came from Remi Elie, his first of the playoffs, assisted by Kyle Platzer. The next goal for the Knights was achieved by Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Alex Broadhurst, his third of the playoffs, with the assists coming from Max Domi and Boston Bruins prospect, Seth Griffith. The second period ended London 4 - Saginaw 1.
The Knights would then add three more goals to their score in the third. The first goal of the frame came off Paxton Leroux's stick, his first OHL career goal, assisted by Remi Elie and Dakota Mermis. Following that goal, Alex Broadhurst added another tally for the Knights, while gaining a hat trick, with his fourth of the playoffs, with the assists coming from Dakota Mermis and Matt Rupert. The closing goal of the night was on the power play, from Nikita Zadorov, with less than 14 seconds left in the game, his first of the playoffs, assisted by Remi Elie and Kyle Platzer. The game ended London 7 - Saginaw 1, with the shots on goal Saginaw 33 - London 28.
