FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Friday, March 22, 2013) - FC Dallas (2-1-0, 6 points) looks to build on its hot streak at home Saturday when the club hosts Western Conference foe Real Salt Lake (1-1-1, 4 points) at 7:30 p.m., presented by SportsDay powered by The Dallas Morning News.
The contest potentially marks the return of goalkeeper Chris Seitz, who missed the final months of the 2012 season after going through an intensive surgical procedure to donate bone marrow to an unknown patient.
Seitz, who was entered into the national bone marrow donor registry database back in 2009, was contacted by the charitable organization DKMS last summer as a potential bone marrow match for a leukemia patient. Seitz initially entered the database as a potential donor during his playing days at Real Salt Lake when the wife of then-teammate Andy Williams was diagnosed with leukemia. The 2012 MLS Humanitarian of the Year, Seitz is expected to start in goal for the Dallas, however his fiancée is also currently expecting the couple's first child, due any day.
For the second season, the popular Lamar's Tailgate is back on the North Concourse with a DJ and the newly expanded Budweiser Beer Garden, featuring beer specials.
FC Dallas and Pat Lobb's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram have also teamed up to give away a fully-loaded white Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Fans, ages 18 and older, can sign up on iPads at the Pat Lobb tent on the North concourse. Each person will enter his/her name, contact info and seat location. Then, the fan must select one FC Dallas player who the fan believes will score during the 60th minute. Registration will run from the time gates open until halftime. At the start of halftime, a Pat Lobb representative will randomly select one fan's entry for the 60th minute. If that fan's preselected player scores during the 60th minute, he or she will win the Jeep Wrangler. For more information, visit FCMagicMinute.com.
The honorary scarfers for Saturday's game will be the FC Dallas U-16 Academy team, which is preparing for next week's Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIV.
Single-game, group and season ticket packages are still available at affordable prices. For more information on group or season tickets, contact the FC Dallas Front Office at (888) 323-4625 or go to FCDallas.com/Tickets.
