
FIfth Shutout of the Season for Bartosak: Rebels Win

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Red Deer Rebels won their 4th game in a row with a 4-0 win Wednesday night in Lethbridge. Patrik Bartosak was the story making 39 saves to record his 5th shutout of the season.
The first period was scoreless; neither team had many good scoring chances in the opening stanza.
In the second, after the Hurricanes took at 5-minute boarding major penalty, Turner Elson scored on the power play. Tyson Ness and Rhyse Dieno set up Elson for the goal, that made it 1-0 for Red Deer. Then while shorthanded, Brooks Maxwell created a turnover deep in the Hurricanes end and dished the puck out to Elson, he connected to make it 2-0. Elson now has 25 goals on the season. Wyatt Johnson made it 3-0 with a hard shot off the rush, Cody Thiel and Christian Stockl picked up assists. It was 3-0 after two periods.
In the third period, the Rebels closed out the scoring on a power play goal from Mathew Dumba with the lone assist going to Brady Gaudet. It was Dumba's 15th of the season, and 50th of his Rebels career. The final shots in the game were 39-28 for Lethbridge. Red Deer ended the game 2 for 4 on the power play and killed all 6 shorthanded situations.
The Rebels are back at home Friday as they host the Hurricanes 7:30PM at the ENMAX Centrium. The broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 7:00PM.
