FRISCO, TX - When Donnie Nelson announced the name of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Development League team, he commented "The name 'Texas Legends' is a celebration of those who've sacrificed greatly and achieved the honorable." Saturday night against the Reno Bighorns, the Legends honor an organization that has taken on a tremendous challenge - Wipe Out Kids Cancer (www.WOKC.org).

"We are excited to partner with the Texas Legends on this special night as we launch our month of giving," commented WOKC CEO Evelyn Costolo. "This night gives us an opportunity to raise awareness about our cause, thank our Ambassadors and their families, and gives us an opportunity to honor all of those who are helping to fight childhood cancer. 46 children a day are diagnosed with cancer - and it is our mission to reduce that number to zero."

The Legends will wear customized jerseys celebrating Wipe Out Kids Cancer, uniquely branded with both the Legends logo and the WOKC logo. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to WOKC. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from WOKC will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."

The Legends face the Utah Jazz affiliate at 7 pm on March 2. The game will be broadcast on TXA21.
