Jets Recall Derek Meech; Pasquale and Melchiori Re-Assigned

The Winnipeg Jets announced today they have recalled defenceman Derek Meech from the St. John's IceCaps while re-assigning defenceman Julian Melchiori and goaltender Eddie Pasquale to the AHL club. The St. John's IceCaps announced they have re-assigned goaltender Chris Carrozzi to the Ontario Reign of the ECHL.

Meech, 28, has played in 46 games with the IceCaps this season. In that time, the Winnipeg, MB native recorded 23 points (3G, 20A) and 38 penalty minutes. He leads all IceCaps defenceman in points so far this season. Meech has played in 128 career NHL games between Detroit and Winnipeg for 16 career points (4G, 12A) and 43 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the seventh round, 229th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
