Dynamo Announce "March to Soccer Kickoff Week" Ahead of March 2 Opening Day

HOUSTON, TX (Friday, Feb. 22, 2013) - With the Dynamo set to begin the 2013 season in just 8 days, the club has announced a week of events leading up to the March 2 season opener at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The March to Soccer Kickoff Week includes the unveiling of the 2013 Dynamo uniforms at House of Blues, a special autograph session at the adidas Dynamo team store, the first Soccer Night Out of 2013, the introduction of the new Dynamo Girls squad, and more.

March to Soccer Kickoff Week begins on Monday, with the unveiling of the 2013 Houston Dynamo uniforms at a public event at House of Blues (1204 Caroline St., Houston), beginning at 5 p.m. The party will feature Dynamo players in their new kits along with a special live broadcast and premier episode of Dynamo Weekly, the new Dynamo studio show on Comcast SportsNet Houston. The event will also include a live broadcast of Dynamo All-Access, the team's official Dynamo radio show on ESPN 97.5 FM, from 7-9 p.m.

Kickoff Week continues on Tuesday with an autograph session by Dynamo players from 5-7 p.m. at the adidas Dynamo team store inside BBVA Compass Stadium (2200 Texas Ave., Houston). The autograph signing is also the public's first opportunity to purchase the official 2013 Dynamo jersey.

Wednesday is highlighted by the first Soccer Night Out of 2013, presented by Statoil. The event will be held at Houston Amateur Sports Park (12131 Kirby Dr., Houston) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Soccer Night Out is a free community soccer festival focused on Houston's suburban communities. The event will feature Dynamo Girls, Dynamo Diesel, and a scrimmage between the Dynamo Academy's U-16 and U-18 teams. The festival includes pick-up soccer games, an inflatable soccer field, music, face painting, a caricature artist and a Dynamo raffle. The first 200 children in attendance will receive a free Soccer Night Out t-shirt.

After several rounds of tryouts, the 2013 Dynamo Girls will be formally unveiled on Thursday, Feb. 28 in a launch party at Dave & Busters (6010 Richmond Ave., Houston), starting at 6:00 p.m. Fans can meet and receive autographs from the new Dynamo Girls dance team. In addition, a live, special edition of Dynamo All-Access radio show will be broadcast on location at the party.

To conclude Kickoff Week, on Friday the Dynamo will hold "Wear your Orange Friday", encouraging fans all over Houston to show their Dynamo pride the day before the team's 2013 home and season opener. The Dynamo will also host a happy hour party from 5-7 p.m. at Lucky's Pub (801 St. Emmanuel St., Houston), on the doorstep of BBVA Compass Stadium. The party will include the Dynamo Girls, former Dynamo all-star defender Eddie Robinson and Dynamo giveaways.
