
Oilers Recall Anton Lander; Assign Paajarvi to OKC

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, recalled center Anton Lander. In a separate transaction, the Oilers assigned Magnus Paajarvi to Oklahoma City.
Lander, 6-0, 194-pounder from Sundsvall, Sweden has played in 39 games with the Barons this season, scoring 10 points (3-7-10). The Oilers 2nd round draft choice (40th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft has played 56 games with the Oilers, recording six points (2-4-6). Prior to joining the Oilers, Lander played four seasons with Timra in the Swedish Elite League, scoring 55 points (23-32-55) in 177 games.
Paajarvi returns to Oklahoma City where he has played in 71 games over the last two seasons, recording 45 points (11-34-45). The 6-2, 204-pounder from Norrkoping, Sweden has played 126 games in the NHL with Edmonton, scoring 42 points (17-25-42). Paajarvi was the Oilers 1st round draft choice (10th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The Barons return to action this weekend with two home games against the Charlotte Checkers. Thursday is a Winning Weekday. Should the Barons win, all fans earn a ticket for the Barons next weekday game. Friday is Concession Specials night with $1 hot dogs and $2 draft beers. Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
Friday night is Special Olympics Night with the Barons. Oklahoma City players are wearing one-of-a-kind jerseys that are available for bids in a live auction following the game. All proceeds from the jersey auction benefit the Barons Buddies program with Special Olympics.
