
Della Rovere and Nigro Assigned to IceMen

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forwards Anthony Nigro and Stefan Della Rovere to their ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen. The club has also reassigned foward Cody Beach, from Evansville, back to Peoria.
Nigro, 22, has appeared in 18 games with Peoria this season. He has a goal and two assists in his injury shortened season. He has played in 17 games this year with the IceMen as part of two separate assignments. He has two goals and five assists, along with six penalty minutes at the ECHL level.
The third-year pro has appeared in 147 games in his Peoria career and has accumulated 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points along with 68 penalty minutes. Last season, Nigro set a career-high in goals (13), assists (12) and points (25) over the course of 75 games. The Woodbridge, ON native was originally selected by the Blues in the sixth round (#155 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Della Rovere, 22, has already seen action in four games with Evansville this season and has recorded one assist. In 11 games with Peoria, he has a goal and 15 penalty minutes. Last season, the 5-foot-11-inch, 200-pound winger played in 69 games for the Rivermen and registered 10 points (4g, 6a) and 116 penalty minutes. In his 135 AHL games with Peoria, he has 26 points (12g, 14a) and 226 penalty minutes.
Originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the seventh round (#204 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the Richmond Hill, ON native was acquired by the St. Louis Blues in exchange for D.J. King on July 28, 2010.
Beach, 20, returns to the Rivermen after a two-game stint in the ECHL. Overall, he has a goal and five assists in 10 games with Peoria this year. Beach has seen action in 24 games with Evansville and has nine points (two goals, seven assists) and 81 penalty minutes.
Selected by the Blues in the fifth round (#134 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Beach played three seasons in the Western Hockey League before turning pro this year.
