
Victoriaville Wins Tight Game over Sea Dogs

VICTORIAVILLE, QC - The Saint John Sea Dogs met the Victoriaville Tigres in a midweek road contest in Wednesday's Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action. The Tigres came out on top by a score of 2-1 at the Colisée Desjardins.
Stephen Anderson scored the lone goal for the Sea Dogs as Sebastien Auger stopped 31 of 33 in the loss as Saint John dropped to 19-29-0-0.
Philippe Maillet and Angelo Miceli responded for the Tigres with Brandon Whitney facing 23 shots and keeping 22 out of the net in the win. Victoriaville climbed to 20-21-3-5.

Saint John came out with a much better effort in the opening frame in Victoriaville than the team's last visit that saw them down 3-0 just seven minutes into the game.
Shots in the scoreless first period were 11-6 for the Tigres.
Anderson had a great chance on a Victoriaville turnover near their own blueline, cutting in all alone, Anderson fired a quick wrist shot but was bested by the glove of Whitney.
Auger absolutely robbed Carl-Antoine Delisle coming fresh off the bench on a clear breakaway just prior to the halfway point of the second period. The beautiful, highlight worthy glove stop kept the game scoreless.
Anderson finished off a great play by Jakub Izacky for his sixth of the year. Izacky powered into the Tigres zone, held off the defender and fed the puck in front for Anderson to cash in at 16:20 of the middle frame. David Weckworth added the other assist on the play.
The highlight reel second period continued for Auger as he went spread eagle to rob Delisle again, keeping the Sea Dogs ahead by one.
Shots in the second were 14-9 for Victoriaville.
Maillet nabbed his 18th of the year to bring the Tigres even at 3:59 of the final period.
Miceli gave Victoriaville the lead with his 22nd of the year at 16:50 of the third period, sealing the win for the Tigres.
The Sea Dogs road trip continues this weekend with a game against the Gatineau Olympiques Friday night at 8:30 pm and Saturday against the Shawinigan Cataractes at 5. Both games can be heard on News 88.9 FMas Tim Roszell has the call. Fans can also catch the action on the TELUS QMJHL Webcast .
