Kings Recall Bodnarchuk

January 21, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Manchester Monarchs News Release

LOS ANGELES, CA - The 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk from the Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have placed defenseman Matt Greene on the injured reserve list (retroactive to January 19), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Bodnarchuk participated in training camp with the Kings before he was assigned to Manchester on January 18 when the Kings officially set their player roster for the start of this season. The 5-11, 190-pound native of Drumheller, Alberta, has played in 39 games with Manchester this season and has 12 points (3-912). Bodnarchuk, who wears No. 47, has played in five NHL games (with the Boston Bruins in 2009-10). He is expected to meet the Kings in Denver, Colorado.

Greene has been placed on IR due to a mid-body injury. In one game with the Kings this season he has one point (an assist).

The Monarchs host the Providence Bruins at the Verizon Wireless Arena at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23. Catch all the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGIR 610 AM, WGIR.com and at www.manchestermonarchs.com, presented by Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
