Rapids to be Featured on "Inside the SuperDraft" Web SeriesJanuary 18, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Colorado Rapids Press Release
Having made three selections, the Rapids were said by media to have had one of the strongest drafts of any team, and will be one of just two MLS clubs featured in the series, the New England Revolution being the other. The annual look inside the preparations for the draft is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, Jan. 23 on MLSsoccer.com. A 30-second preview of the series is available now at MLSsoccer.com and YouTube.
The series begins with the MLS Players Combine (Jan. 11-15 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and fans will get to see and hear the Colorado Rapids technical staff's observations and evaluations of participants, leading up to their three selections at the SuperDraft on Jan. 17 in Indianapolis. The video includes conversations from the Rapids' table in the Indiana Convention Center where they made the decisions to select Deshorn Brown, Dillon Powers and Kory Kindle with their 6th, 11th and 25th overall picks.
With preseason underway, the Rapids will undergo physicals and fitness work this weekend before the team's first training session on Monday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The team is set to participate in the Desert Friendlies presented by Tucson FC and the Las Vegas ProSoccer Challenge against Chivas USA on February 15 as part of the preparations for the 2013 regular season.
