Cleveland Charge News Release
The Canton Charge are pleased to announce a brand new partnership with Akron-based Longbridge Wealth Advisors to benefit the Akron Children's Hospital. Longbridge will provide a $50 charitable donation to the hospital for every assist that the Charge make in home games throughout the entire 2012-13 season. The proceeds, estimated at $10,000 for the season, will be used by Akron Children's Hospital in order to enhance their care and facilities used by families throughout Northeast Ohio.
"When we were given the opportunity as a corporate partner to select the recipient of the assist donation program, my first thought was Akron Children's Hospital," said Jack Elgin, one of the managing partners at Longbridge Wealth Advisors. "The professionals there have provided remarkable care for my children over the years and this community is truly fortunate to have a facility of its caliber. All of us at Longbridge are grateful for the opportunity to team up with the Canton Charge and show our appreciation for such an asset to our community."
"In just our second season in the NBA Development League, the Charge have been fortunate to have corporate partners like Longbridge step forward to help us strengthen our connection to the community and fans," said Charge VP/COO Alan Mowrey. "We commend them for their decision to use the proceeds to benefit Akron Children's Hospital. This is a worthy organization that touches the lives of most of us in the greater Akron/Canton community."
The assist donation program will work in conjunction with the Charge's community initiatives and the NBA D-League Cares programs.
