San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (January 3, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has received defenseman Brendon Nash on loan from the Hamilton Bulldogs. In conjunction, the Rampage have loaned defenseman Jason DeSantis to the Bulldogs.
Nash, 25, has played in 26 games for the Bulldogs this season, recording one goal and seven assists from the blueline. Nash also owns a plus-5 rating for Hamilton, which is good for second best on the team. The Kamloops, British Columbia native appeared in two NHL games for the Montreal Canadiens during the 2010-11 campaign. He also eclipsed the 30-point plateau that season in Hamilton, tallying five goals and 25 assists in 75 games. The 6-foot-3, 206-pound defenseman missed the 2011-12 season with a shoulder injury.
Nash played four seasons at Cornell University (2006-10) and tallied 67 points (eight goals, 59 assists) in 120 games. Prior to Cornell, Nash manned the blueline for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the British Columbia Hockey League, recording 60 points (nine goals, 51 assists) in 112 games.
The Rampage kick off their second straight three-in-three weekend tomorrow (Friday) night at 7:30 p.m. against the Peoria Rivermen on a KZEP Dollar Drink Night. The Silver and Black will then travel to Houston for a tilt against their instate rival at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday before returning to AT&T Center for a rematch against Peoria at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. The game will also mark an Express-News Sunday Funday.
