Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Storm Chasers have been named Omaha's Best Sports Team by the readers of Omaha Magazine, continuing a five-year run as the first-place selection. The announcement comes on the heels of the Chasers' second straight American Conference championship and appearance in the Pacific Coast League Championship Series.
"Five straight years as being named Best of Omaha as its' favorite sport team is most rewarding for our organization," said team president and general manager Martie Cordaro. "The continued support from fans and readers of Omaha Magazine throughout the metro area is exceptional. This award indicates the endorsement of those fans that have taken the time to experience Storm Chasers baseball and fun at Werner Park and for that we are grateful."
This year's contest, the 21st in the history of Omaha Magazine's Best of Omaha program, garnered more than 725,000 votes by just over 30,000 readers - both all-time records. The Storm Chasers have drawn more than 859,000 fans to Werner Park during the first two years that the new ballpark has been open.
The home portion of the 2013 schedule begins against the Nashville Sounds with an American Family Insurance Fireworks Friday, April, 12 at 7:05 pm.
