
Santa Cruz Warriors Win Inaugural Home Game

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors won their first game in the history of Santa Cruz before a sellout crowd, defeating the Bakersfield Jam 93-88.
Five Santa Cruz Warriors scored in double figures, including Kent Bazemore, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, who logged 18 points and 7 rebounds. Jeremy Tyler, also on assignment, recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Travis Leslie scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Taylor Griffin and Chris Johnson each had 11 points.
The Bakersfield Jam were paced by James Nunnally, who scored a game-high 19 points off the bench. Isma'il Muhammad had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Warriors were again led by their defense, holding the Jam to 36.7% shooting from the field. The Warriors again out-rebounded their opponent 52-47. The Jam's biggest lead came early in the first quarter with 5, while the Warriors led by as much as 15 near the end of the third quarter.
The Santa Cruz Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, December 27, tipping-off against the Springfield Armor at 7:00 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
