AKRON, OH - Riverview Elementary third-grader Sarah Ghumrawi had the winning entry in the 2012 Akron Aeros Holiday Greeting Card Contest. The nine-year-old Ghumrawi's drawing of Aeros' mascot Orbit and a baseball-bat wielding snowman was chosen from almost 200 drawings.

For winning the Aeros' first-ever greeting card contest, Ghumrawi receives four tickets to the Aeros' home opener on April 4 vs. Binghamton, signed Aeros' memorabilia, an opportunity to throw out a first pitch, and on-field recognition.

The first 2012 Akron Aeros Holiday Greeting Card Contest was open to all students in grades K-8 who were asked to design the cover of the team's holiday card, which would be sent to all season ticket holders, suite holders and sponsors. Ghumrawi's design will also appear on the Aeros' holiday e-card for all loyal fans and business partners.

Ghumwari's design and those of the eight honorable mention entries will appear on the Akron Aeros' Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheAkronAeros by Friday, Dec. 21. The drawings and other entries will also decorate the Akron Aeros' main administrative office windows located at 300 South Main St.
