Garret Sparks Named Hy-Grade Steel Roofing Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that goaltender Garret Sparks is the Hy-Grade Steel Roofing Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 9th.

Sparks was solid in all three Storm wins this past week posting a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of 0.961. On Tuesday in Kitchener, he made 33 saves, letting in just two, and stopped two of three in the shoot out to lead the Storm to a 3-2 victory over the Rangers. He was named second star of the game. Friday against Owen Sound, the Maple Leafs' prospect made 18 saves in the Storm's 4-1 victory over the Attack. On Saturday in Erie, Sparks recorded his league leading 4th shutout making 23 saves in the Storm's 8-0 victory over the Otters.

Sparks currently has a record of 18-7-0-3 with a goals against average of 2.70 and a 0.920 save percentage. He sits 7th overall in the league in goals against average and 6th in save percentage.

Next up, the Storm face a rare Friday away from the Sleeman Centre as they head to Sarnia to take on the Sting. Saturday the London Knights visit the Sleeman Centre for a 2:00pm start.
