
Toronto Falls 3-2 in Binghamton

The Binghamton Senators defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 3-2 tonight from the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton.
The Senators jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just over two minutes into the game on Shane Prince's second goal of the season. The Senators would extend their lead less than five minutes later, when Jakob Silfverberg capitalized on a breakaway opportunity. Toronto outshot Binghamton 14-13 in the opening period. Carter Ashton's fourth goal of the season cut Binghamton's lead in half at the 1:06 mark of the middle frame. Toronto recorded a season high 20 shots in the second period, while Binghamton managed just seven. Patrick Wiercioch extended the lead to 3-1 just past the five-minute mark of the final frame. Matt Frattin would trim the deficit to one with the Toronto net empty late in the third period. Despite late chances to tie the game, the Marlies were unable to beat goaltender Ben Bishop.
The Marlies continue their current four-game road trip with a game on Saturday night against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. Toronto returns home on December 1, for a 7 p.m. contest against the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.
