
Stingrays Fall to Everblades 4-2

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays (6-10-0-1) fell to the Florida Everblades (6-5-1-2) 4-2 at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday night.
The Stingrays jumped on the board first when forward Daniel Koger blasted a pass from forward Chris Langkow past the left leg of Everblades goaltender Pat Nagle (W, 25 saves on 27 shots) at 7:30 of the first period. Shawn Weller added the second assist. The Everblades responded on the power play at 15:51 with a tally from Mathieu Roy. Moments later, the Everblades capitalized shorthanded when Matt Marquardt beat Stingrays goaltender Shawn Hunwick (L, 19 saves on 23 shots) under the blocker with 1:22 left in the period.
The Everblades quickly took a 4-1 lead early in the second period with two shorthanded markers. Former Stingray Trevor Bruess lit the lamp at 3:03 and Aaron Bogosian buried his second goal of the season at 3:41 as Dan Milan served a two-minute penalty for high-sticking.
Forward Tyler Randell cut the lead in half for the Stingrays 59 seconds into the third period lifting a shot over the glove of Nagle from between the faceoff circles. Forwards Andrew Sackrison and Matthew Pistilli registered assists. The Stingrays finished the game 0-for-4 on the power play while the Everblades went 1-for-3.
