November 16, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

Last Meeting

March 28, 2012 - Artem Demkov made his 20th goal of the year a good one, getting it at 4:03 of OT to beat the Titans on the road, 2-1, in their final meeting of the season.

A Change Of Scenery

Trenton finally gets to see someone new after five in a row with Reading - divisional foes Elmira and Wheeling. The Titans see the Jackals for the first time today and tomorrow in Elmira, then face Evansville and Greenville at home November 23-24 - teams they have seen once each. Then finally it's the Nailers in Wheeling for a single, November 28.

DID YOU KNOW?

Trenton is perfect in its last 25 PK situations

Trenton was the last team in the East to play an OT game (lost 4-3 in a SO last Sunday in Reading)

TRE is 5-0-0-1 when scoring first (never trailing in regulation) and 0-6 when they don't (having never led in those games)

Could Be A Long Night In NY

TRE-ELM tends to play close to the end

As the saying goes, you can throw out the record books when Trenton and Elmira get together. Forget that Elmira ran away with the Atlantic Division and the Titans finished behind them by 43 points - these two teams tend to take it right down to the wire.

Five of the 15 contests last year went to overtime and four of those to a shootout - including three consecutive meetings (all won by ELM, including two in Trenton). All told, the Jackals took the season-ender in OT and three SO wins from the Titans. And why wouldn't they? They set an ECHL record for Shootout wins in a season, going an astounding 11-3.

As for regulation, the games are still tight. Elmira took two 7-3 blowout wins (one at home) and Trenton returned the favor with an 8-1 win on the road. But the other games? Three were decided by one goal (Elmira took two) and five were by two goals (Elmira won three).

So be prepared to stay a while...it could take a long time to get a winner between these two.
