
Canadians RHP Taylor Cole Named Topps Player of the Year

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - Minor League Baseball and the Topps Company announced today that Vancouver Canadians RHP Taylor Cole is among the honourees to be selected as Topps Player of the Year in the annual George M. Trautman Awards.
Cole was dominant for the Canadians in 2012 helping Vancouver to a second straight Northwest League Championship going a perfect 6-0 while crafting a 0.81 ERA over his 12 regular season outings.
Over the course of the season, Cole had nine (9) outings where he did not allow a run and even flirted with a no-hitter on August 30th in Yakima, WA going 7 2/3 innings of work without allowing a hit before having to leave that game due to a high pitch count.
The native of Las Vegas, NV would finish the season with 57 strikeouts and just 17 walks in 66 1/3 innings on the mound.
