
Lake Erie Crushers Host Canned Food Drive

AVON, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Crushers have teamed up with Mercy hospital and All Pro Freight Systems to host a canned food drive, which will benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
All fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to All Pro Freight Stadium between now, and Friday, Nov. 9, to help the victims of the Hurricane. The offices will be opened and accepting canned goods, Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
For every five cans donated, you will receive two home box vouchers, good for any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday game next season.
"In these tough, unforeseen times, we all want to do our small part to help those in need," said Crushers' General Managing Partner Steven Edelson. "We encourage the entire community to join us as we make a positive impact on those who need it."
As of Tuesday afternoon, it was estimated that Hurricane Sandy had caused several billion dollars in damage, left millions without power, affecting nearly one-third of the country.
The Crushers will begin their 2013 season at home, on Friday, May 17 against the Gateway Grizzlies. First pitch for the opener at All Pro Freight Stadium is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The Lake Erie Crushers, the 2009 Frontier League Champions, and 2011 Frontier League Organization of the year, play ball at All Pro Freight Stadium, a 5,000 capacity stadium located in Avon, Ohio. The Frontier League is an independent baseball league with 14 teams operating throughout the Midwest. Season tickets for the 2013 season are on sale now!
