
Phantoms to Hold First "Hounds for Hockey" Game Sunday, October 28

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Covelli Centre will be howling next Sunday when the Youngstown Phantoms take the ice against the Waterloo Black Hawks. The Phantoms are teaming up with Athena Animal Advocacy Group for their first ever "Hounds For Hockey" game on Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. EST, the club announced today.
Dog owners are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends to the Covelli Centre to cheer on the Phantoms in what is sure to be one of the most memorable Sunday matinees of the season. Bobbie the specially trained peanut butter terrier will drop the ceremonial first puck and the game will feature a wide array of canine-friendly entertainment. Additionally, a number of local animal rescue shelters will be on hand throughout the arena giving fans the chance to meet dogs available for adoption as well as accepting donations.
Ticket packages start at just $10 with $5 from each package going to support Athena Animal Advocacy Group's work throughout the Mahoning Valley. The Covelli Centre doors will open at 2:45 p.m. on game day for registration at the entrance outside sections 213 and 214 on the south side of the arena.
Owners who would like to bring their dog to the game must pre-order their tickets by Thursday, Oct. 25 through the Phantoms Office. Owners may bring only one dog per person and must confirm that their pet is up to date on vaccinations with supporting documentation. All dogs must be leashed at all times.
