Albany Devils News Release

WORCESTER, MA -- What the Albany Devils couldn't accomplish in two efforts at home, they achieved in their first road game of the season. In search of their first victory, the Devils knocked off the Worcester Sharks, 4-0, Saturday at DCU Center.

After allowing four power-play goals in two games, Albany's penalty kill unit found its stride, killing nine Shark power plays and even scoring shorthanded.

Goaltender Keith Kinkaid earned his fourth career shutout and first-star-of-the-game honors by turning aside 30 shots. He is now 1-1-0.

Offensively, Jacob Josefson scored twice, including that shorthanded tally, and Harri Pesonen had a goal and an assist. Adam Henrique added the team's other goal.

Henrique opened the scoring on a delayed penalty at 8:53 of the first period. After drawing a penalty, Henrique regathered his rogue stick and headed to the net where Pesonen found him for a quick one-timer over the shoulder of

Worcester goaltender Harri Sateri. Matt Anderson was credited with the second assist.

Before the end of the period, Pesonen redirected a Bobby Butler blast at 14:20. The goal, which featured a second helper from Adam Larsson, was the Devils first power-play tally of the year.

Larrson added another assist on the team's third goal. After breaking up a Sharks odd-man rush, Larsson started a Devils breakout the other way, which included Josefson scoring from Joe Whitney at 15:39.

In the third, Tim Sestito made a pass across the goal crease during a fast break to Josefson for the easy tap in at 4:13.

The Devils, who were outshot 27-30, went 1-for-6 on the power play. Sateri finished with 23 stops.

The Devils return to Times Union Center Wednesday with a 7 pm contest against the New York Rangers affiliate, the Connecticut Whale.
