Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.- The 2012-13 regular season is young, but the Rockford IceHogs (0-2-0-1) are growing antsy. The IceHogs are without a win three games into the campaign and heading into their home opener tonight against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
For tickets to tonight's game, call (815) 968-5222, visit IceHogs.com or at any Ticketmaster location and the BMO Harris Bank Center box office. The game can be viewed in Rockford on WIFR's 23.2 "Weather Now", Comcast Cable channel 436 or through AHLlive.com. For a complete listing of channels, click here .
The first 5,000 fans to the game tonight will receive an IceHogs calendar courtesy of BMO Harris Bank.
For the first time in Rockford's 14 seasons, the team has come up empty in the win column through three games. The task doesn't get any easier for Rockford against Charlotte as the Hogs are 0-2-0-2 all-time against the Checkers at the BMO.
A big reason for the slow start is the offense as Rockford has scored just four goals through their first three contests, including one in last's nights 2-1 loss in Peoria. On the flip side, Carter Hutton has been solid in two of his three starts, but doesn't have a win to show for a shutout and a 32-save, two goal effort.
After starting the campaign with three straight road tilts, Rockford will now play nine of their next 12 games on BMO ice running through Thanksgiving Eve on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Next Home Game: Sunday, Oct. 21 vs. Charlotte Checkers. Game time is set for 5:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Checkers match-up for a second straight contest in Rockford. The first 2,500 fans to the game will pick up an IceHogs picture frame magnet schedule sponsored by T6 Broadband.
