Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, the Double A affiliate of the New York Yankees, scored 302 runs at home this season to propel them to the Eastern League Championship Series, but the real winner this season was the Children's Home Society of New Jersey thanks to NJM Insurance Group and their Safe at Home promotion.
As part of the Safe at Home promotion, NJM made a $15,100 donation, based on $50 per run scored at Waterfront Park, to the Children's Home Society of New Jersey .
"It was an amazing season with the Thunder scoring so many runs and finishing in first place," said Thunder Director of Community Relations Patience Purdy. "But now thanks to NJM, all the excitement on the field is going to translate directly into assistance for New Jersey children and families in need ."
The 2013 season, the 20th in franchise history, will begin on April 4 at Portland with the home opener slated for Thursday, April 11 against Richmond. Season tickets and group outings are on sale now by calling 609-394-3300.
