Reign Take Second Preseason Contest from Wranglers, 4-1

Ontario, Calif. - Special teams plagued the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight as the team fell 4-1 to the Ontario Reign in the second preseason game of the 2012-13 season.

Just 68 seconds into the game, Ontario took an early lead over Las Vegas on a goal from Reign center C.J. Stretch. The team held the 1-0 score until the final minutes of the first, when a power play goal from Wranglers center Judd Blackwater made it a 1-1 game. A scoreless second loomed, but with Las Vegas facing back-to-back penalty kills, Reign defenseman Vincent LoVerde beat Wranglers goaltender Mitch O'Keefe to regain a 2-1 lead on the power play in the last 75 seconds of the period.

Taking a two-goal lead three minutes into the third, Reign forward Brodie Sheahan added a second power play tally to Ontario's night. Reign right wing Derek Couture tacked on another goal six minutes later, giving Ontario the 4-1 lead for the eventual final score of the night.

Las Vegas wraps up the preseason in Alaska as the team faces the Aces on Monday, Oct. 8 and Tuesday, Oct. 9. The 2012-13 season opens on the road against the Bakersfield Condors on Sunday, Oct. 14, before the home opener against the Stockton Thunder on Friday, Oct. 19.
