Soo Greyhounds News Release
With the 2012-13 Ontario Hockey League season just days away, Soo Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas announced today that the club has trimmed it's roster down to 25 active players.
As a result three players were re-assigned.
Defenseman FRASER TURNER was re-assigned to the Hounds affiliate club, the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL), forward DYLAN MASCARIN was re-assigned to the Thunder Bay North Stars (SIJHL) and goaltender CHARLIE MILLEN was re-assigned to the Ottawa Jr. Senators (CCHL).
Turner (6th Rd, 2011) was a member of the Thunderbirds organization one season ago. The Pontypool, ON product helped the Tbirds win an NOJHL Championship, Dudley Hewitt Cup Championship (Central Canadian Championship) and move on to a semi-final berth at the Royal Bank Cup (Jr. A National Championship).
Mascarin, a native of Thunder Bay, ON was obtained by the Hounds this past August from the Plymouth Whalers. Like Turner, Dylan was a participant at last year's Dudley Hewitt Cup.
And Millen, a 19-year old netminder from Peterborough, ON has joined the Hounds on a couple of occasions over the past two seasons.
Now, entering Friday's Home Opener versus the Plymouth Whalers (7:07 p.m.), the Hounds have two goaltenders, eight defenseman and fifteen forwards on their active roster.
Tickets for Friday's game are available at the Essar Centre Box Office (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), online at www.essarcentre.ca or by phone toll-free at 1-866-775-9422.
