TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans, members of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, have announced their intent to offer actor/comedian/producer Kevin Smith a one-day coaching contract.

Smith, a huge New Jersey Devils fan from Red Bank, NJ, is probably best known to his movie fans as Silent Bob. He has appeared in and/or directed several successful films such as Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma, Zach and Miri Make A Porno, Clerks and Chasing Amy among others.

Currently Smith has two television shows - Comic Store Men (AMC) and Spoilers (Hulu) - along with having his own podcast network SModCo ( http://smodcast.com/ ). He also runs the comic book store Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, used as the backdrop for his AMC show.

Terms of the contract offer will include: Opportunity to coach the Titans for a game, spend the day with Titans Head Coach Vince Williams, a Luxury Suite for friends and family with food and drinks, honorary Puck Drop, an opportunity to host one of his podcasts in the Sun National Bak Center and a location to host his 100th podcast for either Hollywood Babble-On or Jay and Silent Bob Get Old.

The Trenton Titans returned in the 2011-12 hockey season after a five year hiatus and boasted a 26.1% increase in attendance over the previous year, the largest of any team in the 20-team ECHL.
