Quebec, CN - Josue Peley's walk-off single for the Capitals capped off the regular season, a compelling promotion for a Can-Am Championship Series these same two teams begin Wednesday.

Peley's two-out, seeing-eye single through the left side in the ninth inning scored Sebastien Boucher giving Quebec the 3-2 win on a calm, crisp evening in Quebec.

Scoreless in the bottom of the fifth, starter Craig Clark issued a one-out, bases-loaded walk to the Can-Am's leading hitter Rene Leveret to give the Capitales the 1-0 lead. The following batter Peley lifted a fly ball to center, but an accurate throw by Chris Curran nailed Jonathan Malo at the plate, holding the score at 1-0.

Clark was solid in his first start since August 14th. The lefty allowed just the one run off five hits through six innings. He earns the no-decision.

Chad Jones looked confident in his audition for a game-four start. The Capitales' side-winding righty shutout the Jackals through five innings and allowed only three hits. He earns the no-decision.

1-0 into the top of the eighth, the Jackals construed their own bases-loaded rally. Like their opponent, Bryan Sabatella walked in the game-tying run, preceding Francisco Caraballo's RBI single to put New Jersey up 2-1.

A half inning later the Capitales' Steve Brown doubled to left-center to tie the game.

After closer T.J. Stanton worked out of a two on, two out jam in the ninth, the Capitales put runners on second and third with two outs before Peley's game winning single off Jeff Gogal.

Gogal gets the loss for only the second time his season to drop to 6-2. It's the first earned run scored off Gogal since Rockland's Philip Cuadrado homered off Gogal July 12th, 25 2/3 innings and 22 appearances ago.

Stanton earns the win to improve to 3-2.

Francisco Caraballo was 3-4 with the RBI single. August's Hitter of the Month ends the season with 77 RBIs, tying him with Kevin Grijak for the all-time, single-season record set in 2004.

With the win, the Capitales close out their regular season at 66-34, the most wins in franchise history. New Jersey ends with a 59-41 mark.

With the top two records in the Can-Am League, New Jersey and Quebec will enjoy a day off tomorrow before beginning the Can-Am Championship Series at 7:05 on Wednesday from Le Stade Municipal.

Games three, four, and five (if necessary) of the Can-Am Championship Series will be played at Yogi Berra Stadium. You can purchase your tickets here at Jackals.com or by calling (973) 746-7434.
