RAPIDS VISIT SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES THIS SATURDAY: The Colorado Rapids take to the road to face the San Jose Earthquakes this Saturday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. PT (8:30 p.m. MT) at Buck Shaw Stadium. The match against the Western Conference leaders will be broadcast live on Altitude, Mile High Sports Radio on 93.7 FM or 1510 AM, and ESPN Deportes Radio on 87.7 FM. The Coors Light Away Game Viewing Party will be held at Back East Bar and Grill in Colorado Springs and at The Three Lions Pub in Denver. FIRE TOPS POLICE 4-1 IN FIRST ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BADGES: The Denver Fire Department ousted the Denver Police Department 4-1 on Saturday night in the first annual Battle of the Badges at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The teams took to the pitch after the Colorado Rapids tied 1-1 with Chivas USA to battle for soccer bragging rights, with money raised from the night benefiting the Friends of the Fire Department and the Denver Police's Widows and Orphans Fund. RAPIDS' THIRD ANNUAL CHARITY CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR SEPTEMBER 10: The Rapids' third annual Charity Classic, a golf tournament with Rapids players and coaches, will tee off on Monday, September 10 at The Club at Pradera in Parker, with all proceeds going to Kroenke Sports Charities. Spots are going quickly but are still available at $300 for individuals and $1000 for foursomes (which could also be three golfers and a Rapids player).
