Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will look to build off their impressive offensive outing last week when the BC Lions invade Canad Inns Stadium on Friday night. Quarterback Joey Elliott will be making his second straight start and will look to attack a Lions' defence that is among the best in the league.
Purolator Tackle Hunger will be set up outside gate three collecting food and monetary donations as fans enter the stadium. The Grey Cup will be on hand and fans will be able to get their picture taken with the coveted trophy with a donation.
Prior to kickoff, local Winnipeg rock band Sons of York will be performing outside gate four beginning at 530pm. This concert is part of a SiriusXM promotion where a local band will compete with other bands from across the league for a chance to play at the 100th Grey Cup.
The Nissan Drive Your Team booth will be set up inside the stadium in the northeast corner of the concourse for fans to enter a chance to win a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. The annual school supply drive will also be taking place at every gate for fans to drop off any unused school supplies on behalf of the Public Service Alliance who collect supplies for inner city school kids.
Manitoba Public Insurance's Bike Valet continues as a free service to all fans who ride their bikes to and from the games. Upon checking in their bicycles, fans can enter to win a customized Blue Bomber bike.
Halftime will feature a special performance by the Blue Bomber Cheer Team.
Tickets still remain for the contest, and can be found at www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling 1-855-BOMBERS.
