Buccaneers Announce Pre Season Schedule

August 20, 2012 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Des Moines Buccaneers

Urbandale (IA) The Des Moines Buccaneers have finalized their pre-season slate that will prepare the team for the 64-game 2012-2013 United States Hockey League season. Five games over eight days are scheduled, including one at Buccaneer Arena, as the team readies for the season opener September 28th at Team USA in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In addition to the three games previously announced for the USHL Fall Classic in Sioux City, IA Sept. 19-Sept. 21, the Buccaneers have scheduled a home and home series with rival Omaha the preceding weekend. Des Moines will play at Omaha on Sept. 14th and then face the Lancers the next night at 7pm at Buccaneer Arena.

Ticket information for the home game will be released at a later date.

The team's training camp officially opens Sept. 4th.

The Buccaneers will be under the direction of an entirely new coaching staff in 2012-2013 led by head coach Jon Rogger. He is joined by assistants Ryan Bennett and John Devereaux.

The Des Moines Buccaneers are preparing for their 33rd consecutive season in the United States Hockey League beginning in the Fall of 2012. Since 1980, the Buccaneers have produced hundreds of NCAA Division I players and dozens of professional alumni.
