London Knights News Release
London, August 9, 2012: The London Knights and London Public Library know that one in three Canadian families cannot afford to enrol their children in sport and recreation activities because of financial barriers (Ipsos Reid, 2009).
With this in mind, last year London Public Library's Pond Mills Branch hosted its first Hockey Equipment exchange, collecting over 170 pieces of hockey equipment which were then made available to eager kids to help them gear up for last season.
This year, London Public Library's Hockey Equipment Exchange is back, with the support of the London Knights and hometown player Brett Welychka, #27, who knows firsthand what it is like to be a young hockey player in London. The goal this year is to collect and distribute even more equipment to young players in need.
Join Brett, London Public Library staff (hockey players themselves) and local families who benefitted from last year's exchange as we launch promotion of the 2nd Annual Pond Mills Library Hockey Equipment Exchange.
