San Jose Giants Action Packed Homestand Preview: August 10-August 16

August 9, 2012 - California League (CalL) San Jose Giants

SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants begin an exciting six-game homestand Friday, August 10 at 7:00 PM against the Lancaster JetHawks. On Friday night the Giants will host the sixth annual "A Giant Luau", presented by Alaska Airlines. There will be a special pig roasting ceremony in Turkey Mike's BBQ, the team will wear special Hawaiian themed jerseys, the first 1,000 fans to the game will receive Hawaiian lei's and one lucky individual will win two FREE round-trip tickets courtesy of Alaska Airlines.

On Sunday, August 12 the Giants will take on the JetHawks at 6:00 PM and it will be National Spirit of '45 Day sponsored by CareMore. The game will be followed by Postgame Fireworks courtesy of Dignity Memorial.

Promotions and Special Events:

A Giant Luau presented by Alaska Airlines: The San Jose Giants will bring Hawaiian culture to Municipal Stadium for the sixth annual A Giant Luau on Friday, August 10, presented by Alaska Airlines. The evening will be full of Hawaiian festivities ranging from hula dancers and island music to Hawaiian cuisine and a special pig roasting ceremony in Turkey Mike's BBQ. The team will be wearing special Hawaiian themed jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. In addition to all the festivities, Alaska Airlines is giving away two FREE round-trip tickets to one lucky fan. Fans that wear their Hawaiian gear to the game Friday night will receive two free future game tickets and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive festive leis.

Alaska Airlines Thunderstick Giveaway: The first 1,000 fans through the gates on Friday will also receive Thundersticks courtesy of Alaska Airlines.

KRTY Family Friday: Friday is the second to last KRTY Family Friday of the season. Be sure to stop by the KRTY booth at the ballpark and check out the live broadcast and enter to win great prizes. OSH Merchant Games: Fans can pick up complimentary admission tickets at participating OSH stores to the night game Friday, August 10 and the day game Thursday, August 16. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, while quantities last.

Blossom Valley All-Stars of San Jose Celebration: On Sunday, August 5 the Blossom Valley All-Stars of San Jose captured the Pony Mustang World Series by defeating Puerto Rico 10-1 in Burleson, Texas. The team outscored its opponents 74-4 in four tournament games and is the first Northern California team to win the Mustang Division World Series in 40 years. On Saturday, the San Jose Giants will welcome the team to the ballpark and recognize them during a pregame ceremony.

A Giant Slumber Party: On Saturday, August 11 don't just plan to come to the game.take part in the first-ever A Giant Slumber Party at Municipal Stadium. Camp out on the outfield grass, watch The Sandlot on the video board and enjoy a continental breakfast in the morning. Comcast Hometown Network Coverage: The San Jose Giants and Comcast Hometown Network have once again joined forces to bring fans an expanded schedule of 20 LIVE television broadcasts during the 2012 season. Tune in and catch the action for the first two games against the Lancaster JetHawks, Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11.
