Condors Host Open Tryout Camp

August 3, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL) Bakersfield Condors

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors are giving aspiring professional hockey players the opportunity to prove they have what it takes, with an Open Tryout on Sept. 21 - 23, 2012 in Bakersfield.

The camp is open to all players 18 or older, and will take place at the Ice Center of Bakersfield. Players are guaranteed to get a minimum of three on-ice sessions, including two games. Goaltenders will get at least two goalie-only sessions as well and some will be selected for game competition. The Condors are reserving three spots in the team's official Training Camp for individuals from the Open Tryout camp. The official camp commences Friday, Sept. 28.

The Open Tryout camp schedule is listed below. Sessions will be run by the Condors coaching staff: Head Coach Matt O'Dette and Assistant Coach Kevin Barrett.

Open Tryout Camp Itinerary

Friday, Sept. 21 - Goaltenders only (6-7 p.m.)

Saturday, Sept. 22 - 10:45 - 11:45 a.m.

6:45 - 7:45 p.m. (goaltenders only)

Sunday, Sept. 23 - 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.

11:00 a.m. - Noon

"This is a great opportunity for local players and others who don't have a place to play yet this season," said O'Dette. "We're keeping spots available at the main camp specifically for guys from this Open Tryout, so you have no excuses. Get out here and show us what you can do."

Transportation to and from the camp, including each individual session, meals and full equipment (visors required for skaters), including sticks, as well as hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee.
