GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors announced today they have traded the rights to defensemen Adam Comrie to the Reading Royals in exchange for the rights to defensemen Mike Montgomery and future considerations.

Montgomery, a Minnesota native, split time last season between the Ontario Reign of the ECHL and the Houston Aeros of the AHL. In 27 games with the Reign, the 210 pound defensemen registered a goal and an assist, as well as 17 penalty minutes. With the Aeros, Montgomery tallied a goal and three assists in 35 games. Before turning pro, Montgomery spent four seasons playng division one college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He served as captain of the team his senior year in 2010-11, helping lead the Bulldogs to their first NCAA National Championship in the program's history. "Montgomery is a good defensemen, with some great leadership experience at the college level," said Road Warriors Head Coach Dean Stork. Montgomery's rights were traded to Reading in February of last season, but he never suited up for the Royals.

Comrie signed with the Road Warriors in March last season, having spent most of the year away from hockey due to personal reasons. A third round draft pick of the Florida Panthers in 2008, Comrie joined the Road Warriors in the final games of the season, posting one assist in three games.
