BayBears Going "Downtown" to Offer 2012 Playoff Tickets on Dauphin St.

The Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball Club announced today an alliance with the Mobile Opera to sell game day tickets as well as Southern League Playoff tickets at the Mobile Opera, Larkins Music Center, 257 Dauphin St. in Downtown Mobile.
"We are excited to partner with the Mobile Opera and be able to offer specially priced tickets for downtown merchants at the Dauphin St. location." said BayBears President/COO Bill Shanahan, "As the 2012 Southern League Playoffs get underway at Hank Aaron Stadium, Thursday September 6th, The BayBears will welcome Mobile Opera fans for opening night of the playoffs. We're always looking for ways to have an additional presence and to be a part of Downtown-plus a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the Mobile Opera."
Mobile Opera General Director Scott Wright shared his enthusiasm for the new Downtown Duet, "The Mobile Opera and the Mobile BayBears both produce big hits and winning seasons so it's a great double play combination. In addition, The Mobile Opera has had a longstanding partnership with the BayBears and now look forward to expanding this friendship by offering the Box Office to Our Hometown Team!" The mission of Mobile Opera is to provide high quality opera and other musical productions while cultivating emerging artists and building on their over-sixty-year tradition of educating, entertaining, and enriching the community.
The BayBears also would like to thank the Mobile Downtown Alliance in assisting in this partnership. The Downtown Mobile Alliance is a non-profit organization established to facilitate the work of the Downtown Mobile District Management Corporation and Main Street Mobile, Inc. Established in August 2006, the Alliance is a membership organization designed to create more exposure for downtown redevelopment efforts, both within the downtown community and throughout the city at large.
The Mobile BayBears are the Double A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The BayBears are in their sixteenth season at Hank Aaron Stadium and are the Defending Southern League Champions and the reigning Minor League Team of the Year.
