FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas Stadium's all-time attendance record was pushed to new heights for Saturday night's game presented by WinStar World Casino, but it was the L.A. Galaxy that capitalized, beating Dallas, 1-0, on a Mike Magee goal scored in the 62nd minute.

With the match carrying serious playoff implications for both sides, FC Dallas and the L.A. Galaxy kept things tight in the back early. The first solid opportunity of the game came in the 30th minute, when Andrew Jacobson redirected a header over the top of the Galaxy backline. Forward Scott Sealy timed his run perfectly, met up with the pass just inside the top left side of the box, and hit a first-touch strike that missed the back post by six inches.

L.A. seemed to take exception to the chance created by Dallas. The visitors peppered goalkeeper Kevin Hartman with four shots in the next three minutes. Fortunately for Dallas, Hartman was equal to them all, making one routine save on a long-distance attempt by Magee in the 34th minute before taking flight to slap away a pair of chances in the 35th and 36th minutes.

FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman opted to bring on two substitutes at the half. George John replaced rookie Matt Hedges at center back and speedster Fabian Castillo came on for Carlos Rodriguez on the left wing.

The team created a solid scoring opportunity in the 61st minute, when Castillo chased down a loose ball on the right flank. He immediately turned and lobbed a cross to the back post that was chested down by David Ferreira. The pass sat up perfectly for Sealy, who hit a shot towards L.A. goalkeeper Josh Saunders' left side, but Saunders was equal to the task and denied FC Dallas with a left-handed save.

Once again, the Galaxy responded quickly. Robbie Keane collected a pass deep in Dallas' defensive third of the pitch and picked out Magee in the center of the field. Magee cut hard to his left, freeing up a shot that beat Hartman to his left post, giving the Galaxy the 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute.

FC Dallas nearly evened the score in the 82nd minute, when Castillo went by his defender on the left flank and sent a perfect cross into the area for Jackson, who lost his marker, but was unable to keep his header on frame.

Dallas' final opportunity came in the 88th minute. Defender Zach Loyd collected a pass on the right side and attempted to pick out Jacobson at the far post. The line-drive pass was almost won by John, who came streaking through the center of the box, but the ball was just out of the defender's reach and too quick for Jacobson at the back post.
