Tonight's Game-- Rudy Owens makes his team and organizational debut as the RedHawks look to take the first three games of their series against Iowa at 7:05 p.m.

Last Night-- The RedHawks continued to hit well at home in a 10-8 win over the I-Cubs. Iowa scored a trio of two-out runs over the first two innings to take an early 3-0 lead. Fernando Martinez got the RedHawks within one on a two-run single in the third. The RedHawks added four in the fourth and went ahead on a two-run single by Chris Wallace. Wallace added another RBI in the fifth, and the RedHawks seemed to take command with a three-run seventh to go ahead 10-4. Iowa scored four times in the ninth inning and even brought the tying run to the plate with two outs. Fortunately Jose Valdez got Blake Lalli to ground out to end the game as Valdez earned his first save since early June. Brett Oberholtzer improved to 3-0 in three starts in OKC and 4-3 overall. He allowed four runs--three earned--and seven hits with five strikeouts over seven innings. Chris Rusin (7-7) struggled again against the RedHawks, allowing seven runs and 10 hits over five innings.

Today's Probable Pitchers-- Rudy Owens is set to make his team and organizational debut...Owens was acquired on Tuesday along with two other players from Pittsburgh in exchange for Astros pitcher Wandy Rodriguez...A 2012 International League All-Star, Owens was having a terrific season for Triple-A Indianapolis...In 19 starts, Owens went 8-5 with a 3.14 ERA for the Indians...He ranked seventh in the league in ERA while leading the team in innings and ranking second in wins...16 of his 19 starts this season have been quality starts, including an impressive 15 straight from April 15 through July 1...He was named both the 2009 and 2010 Pirates Minor League Pitcher of the Year...Casey Coleman takes the mound for Iowa...He has split this season between Chicago and Iowa, serving in different roles with each team...He has served primarily as a starter for the I-Cubs...On Saturday in Albuquerque, Coleman allowed nine runs and 10 hits in just 2.2 innings...In his other eight starts, he is 2-2 with a 3.63 ERA...Over 16 relief appearances with Chicago, he has posted a 7.32 ERA, but it was just 4.50 until he allowed seven runs in his last ML appearance on June 27.

Home Cookin'-- The RedHawks have won each of their last three home games, putting up 37 runs and 40 hits in the process.

But It's Not Just At Home-- Over the last 11 games, the RedHawks are hitting .354 with 97 runs.

Super 60-- Last night was the RedHawks 60th win of the season. They did not reach that mark in 2011 until August 21, when they were 60-69. Through 104 games last year, the team was 46-58.

Paredes Party Ends-- After going 0-for-5 yesterday, Jimmy Paredes' 10-game hit streak came to an end. He hit 23-for-47 (.489) with four home runs and 12 RBIs and had a multi-hit game nine times. Since July 15, he is tied for the most hits in the Minors (23).

Fabulous Fernando-- Fernando Martinez has hit safely in his last 13 games as well as in his last 14 starts. It's the second-longest streak by a RedHawk this season and he is hitting .365 (19-for-52) with three homers and 11 RBIs. On Tuesday he drew two walks in a game for the first time this season.

Shuck-Tacular-- J.B. Shuck has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, batting .486 (17-for-35). His .300 season average is the highest it's been since May 9.

Uncle Buck-- Over his last six games, Travis Buck is hitting .500 (10-for-20) with five RBIs. He's had a multi-hit game in four of his last five starts.

Drought Beyond the Midwest-- Mike Hessman has not homered since July 5 in New Orleans. The 17-game streak without a homer is his longest of the season. He still comfortably leads the PCL with 27 dingers this season.

Staying in the Yard-- Yesterday was the first time neither the RedHawks nor their opponent hit a home run since June 28 at Iowa--a span of 23 straight games.

Mound Struggles-- The pitching staff has allowed at least six runs in nine of the last 10 games on and posted a 7.73 ERA (75 ER/87.1 IP). The RedHawks have surrendered 14 home runs over the last six games. The 117 they've allowed for the season is the second-most in the PCL.

The Big One-- The RedHawks have had some trouble avoiding big innings lately. They've allowed at least four runs in an inning in six straight games, occurring a total of eight times.

Against the Cubs-- The RedHawks have won eight of the first nine meetings...At home, they've won nine straight as well as 13 of the last 14 over the I-Cubs...Mike Hessman has belted seven homers over nine games, including five between June 3-4...Brandon Barnes is hitting .448 with nine RBIs...Former RedHawk Diory Hernandez has gone 7-for-16 with three doubles....He hit .159 with no extra-base hits over 32 games with OKC before being released in late May...These teams next meet August 22-26 in Des Moines.
